As the days are no longer, I made time for another trip to London City so here’s a few shots from an excellent evening. Runway 09 was in use – so I tried a bit of banning at slower shutter speeds (typically 160th second) top try and get some background blur:
First – this D328 owned by MHS aviation and leased to Sun Air operating the Sun Air service – shame its not in full BA livery!

A BA E170 now with the BA crest – only aircraft I saw with it across the evening:

The Blue Islands ATR42 touching down – it later went tech and did soem engine runs – which caused some problems….

One of the many Cityjet Fokker 50s – LCY is still a great place to see them:

The BA Saab from the Isle of Man – considerably nicer conditions than when I caught it after diverting into Southend in the snow in March!

Obligatory Cityjet RJ85 – 146s are becoming increasingly scarce at London City with just Swiss and Cityjet operating them now:

The Lufthansa E190 making its customary full power departure back to Framnkfurt:

I tried a couple of approach shots from further down the dock – which emphasise the steep approach:

The F.50s practically nosedive towards the runway!

The sole Cityjet liveried D328 from Dundee:

One of the nice Luxair Dash 8 – the only remaining regular Dash 8 operator into City now:

The Alitalia E190 – now there is a later evening rotation to Milan which makes shots like this possible in the evening:

The 700th E Jet landing:

And finally the clear highlight one of the very last arrivals in excellent light – the Flynonstop E190 from Kristiansand in Norway. Excellent livery:

I hope these are of interest – comments welcome!

Thanks by738 and Culpano. I agree that the BA Saab is very smart indeed, and I was pleased with the results with the panning.

Just noticed the Saab in BA colours on the IOM route. Seems to suit the Saab quite well.

Thanks Tartan Pics. Would certainly recommend LCY especially in the evening on the dock side. I just hope the Flynopnstop service lasts, it didn’t carry nearly enough passengers last month.
