I have had the priviledge of placing another set of memoirs onto my website. This is the second book that I am publishing online – the first being the late Ross Sayer’s excellent acount of his days as a Wellington pilot in North Africa and the Atlantic, The Pen And The Sword.
This new book is simply entitled Air Force Memories, and is written by another ex-RNZAF man who lived in Cambridge, NZ, called Trevor Pearce. He wrote these memories two years ago and despite trying to get them published that came to nothing as his publisher disappeared. So Trevor has asked me to publish his book online, and I’m doing so gladly. It’s a great read and very amusing.
Doing his initial training in New Zealand, Trevor descibes in great detail service at the various RNZAF Stations and flying the Tiger Moths before embarking for Canada. That trip itself was epic, and is described in detail. Then he continues his training on Cranes and becomes a staff pilot, seconded to the RCAF.
Eventually after much service in Canada, with lots of low flying and other mad capers, Trevor returned to NZ where he joined a fighter squadron and did an operational tour in the Pacific war zone.
I am steadily getting the chapters onto the site, with around half the book up already. I’m sure you’ll agree it’s an easy read and well worth the effort.
The chapters all start at the contents menu here:

Please feel free to post comments and ask questions. I’m in contact with Trevor so if you want to follow anything up, I’ll be glad to ask him – or pass on comments, etc.
