Another twist in the EXEL Aviation Group saga. Erik de Vlieger, former chairman of the EXEL Aviation Group has been arrested for extortion. He will likely be held till thursday (27/01).
The arrest was made for a case from a little over 2 years ago, not related to the airline. Some people are saying though that the justice department is affraid De Vlieger would escape abroad. This arrest will keep him safely in the Netherlands for a few days while investigators are looking into the EXEL Aviation Group, as well as a few other shady deals.
De Vlieger reported himself voluntarily at the police station where he was arrested.
