I surprised so few have posted images from Fairford on here, but I will add my contribution.
A relatively quiet day by all accounts, but I had a good time, so glad I booked the afternoon off!
Some of these pics have some sensor dust and I apologise for that, but to be honest, I’m quite pleased with them! (They’re in chronological order)

A lot of noise – ISO1600!!!

C+C welcome!

A good set of photos. I particularly like the Tornado jet blast pics. Also, nice touch to get the moon in on one of the last pics.

They have been flying a couple of nights until 1030pm, so that almost certainly explains the activity over Newent.
Thankyou for the kind comments

Aaaah!
Hi Steve,
I think maybe you have answered a question I was going to ask on the modern Military section.. There has been a massive amount of military jet activity over Newent on the Glos/Herfordshire border this last week, mainly night-time fighter chases (between 6 and 10pm!) but alas, it has been too dark to make out shapes – all I see are little red flashing lights chasing each other around the sky making a bloody great racket! I have been wondering what the deal was, but I’m guessing it may well be these Fairford guests, unless anyone knows differently..?
Anyway, excellent shots, really good to see some activity at Fairford – wish I could get down there myself..work gets in the way!
