Exercise Excalibur

I hope this is in the right forum. Time passes so quickly these days I never know when things slip into the realms of Historic. Mods please move if necessary.
I’m doing some research into the series of Excalibur exercises which
commenced in the mid 1980s and finished in 2005. I need to be precise about dates. I think that it began in 1985 and there was a break between 1993 and 2004. Please correct if wrong.
This was exclusively a USAFE exercise until 2005 (and 2004?) when the RAF (41 and 6 squadron Jaguars) also took part. It was based at RAF Lakenheath.
I would welcome any input from anyone who was involved in this exercise at some point over the years either as pilot or in a supporting role; or anyone else who has knowledge of the exercise.
I believe the exercise was basically a strafing and bombing competition held at Holbeach and Wainfleet……or am I being too simplistic?
