extreme low level glider video

I was watching soaring videos on youtube and found this unbelievable video of super low level flying. Dont these guys know there is no engine in these planes and they will run out of airspeed eventually?

Andy was CFI at the RAF Gliding and Soaring Association at Bicester and thus introduced many people to the delights (and social life!) of gliding.

There are many members of the Windrushers Gliding Club at Bicester who still have plenty of happy memories of Andy.

The RAFGA display pilot in those days was Andy Gough..I remember a similarly impressive display in a Blanik by him, also at a Biggin Hill BoB display, if I recall correctly.

He sadly died in an accident in a Blanik, caused I think by jamming of the controls by a loose spanner.

I think thats the man, what a shame he was killed by a loose spanner. I was well impressed by his display even tho it was a little heart stopping at times. Many Thanks

That is one fantastic video.
Can anyone help me with some info. I was at the air display at Biggin Hill, think it was the same show when Don Bullock crashed the Invader. There was a solo glider display and what surprised me that when he touched down the pilot did a loop touched down again and did another loop coming to a dead stop. Does anyone know who the pilot was.
Best Regards G.

There was another video in the same batch where the guy tried to land in a tailwind and crashed whilst turning too steep onto finals. You can clearly see the windsock, at least 15 knots.

Those hills are no problem with a solid wind blowing in the right direction.
Some other footage seems over an airstrip, just blowing off speed, coming in low, &c.
The only one making me think was over the lake, though it seems it’s an artificial lake on a plateau, so once you make it over the dam you’ll pick up speed.
