On May 27th the Royal Australian Air Force Museum at RAAF Base Williams, Point Cook will receive an F111C. This aircraft, serial A8-125 was the first F111 taken on charge by the RAAF. It landed in Australia on June 1 1973. It made the last ever landing of an F 111 on December 3 2010. The aircraft will be delivered by road from RAAF Base Amberley in Queensland and will join the F111G already on display at Point Cook.

RAAF Museum F 111
While I can’t speak for the RAAF Museum I would think it highly unlikely that the aircraft would be maintained in taxiable condition. These aircraft are museum exhibits so keeping them fuelled to any degree is a fire hazard in a hangar that is publicly accessible and trying to move one of these beasts out of a display hangar is a major operation.

Are there any plans to keep one of the RAAF F-111’s in running/taxiable condition whilst they are still in such good condition?
