F-14/15 early competition

I remember days when F-14/15 were becoming operational. Tomcat was more respected then is now. Story was that they were equaly maneuverable, of course somebody (if naive enough) could think that statement includes sustained turns. Here are 14’s lift limit dotted line and sep.
Latter it became clear that instantaneous turns are simmilar ?
