F-14 deploys for the LAST time!!

I had heard a few months ago that when the USS Carl Vinson returns from the gulf it would be the last deployment of the F-14 Tomcat fighter…however, in watching the news the other night, they showed the USS Theodore Roosevelt leaving for the gulf and announced, very pointedly, that THIS would be the last deployment of the Grumman F-14 (I don’t care who supposedly built or maintains them now, they are GRUMMAN F-14 Tomcats, just like they are General Dynamics F-16s!!) So on the decks of CVN-75 will the Tomcat take it’s last trap in about 6 months….and then a page, long written, of aviation history will close…no more Grumman fighters aboard US Navy carriers…..:-(

There will no F-14s be sold.
Not becopuse they would’t be wanted, but becouse they are to expensive to mantain & there is no way to make spare part (congress ordered the destruction of the machinery that produced the pasrts of the F-14s. So the only way to get new spare parts would be to sloughter constantly the F-14s in AMRAC.

In a simple word No, because of the whole Iran thing Congress under the Regan Adm. passed a law that excluded certain Weapon system including the F-14 to never be made avaible to Foreign Countrys.

Will any of these be made available to foreign air forces or naval air arms?
