F-16 armament question

I see that most air forces who operate the AMRAAM and F-16 would prefer fitting the AMRAAM on the wingtip pylon(hardpoints 1/9) and sidewinders on hardpoints 8/2 instead of the other way round i.e. AMRAAM on weapon stations 8/2 and sidewinders 1/9. Is that any advantage in doing so, especially in aerodynamics?

I’ve also heard that fitting AAMs on the wingtip pylons of F-16 will actually improve it’s perforamnce. How true is this?

Thanks in advance.
