[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-01-02 AT 06:26 PM (GMT)]Today an F-16AM of the Belgian AirForce crashed near Kleine Brogel, one of Belgium’s two main F-16 bases. The pilot bailed out and landed safely, no reports of injuries have been indicated so far.
The last crash of a BAF F-16 was dated back in 1999. In the 1980’s the F-16 had the reputation of being a wedow-maker. So far, since 1978, 31 of the 120 BAF F-16’s have been lost in accidents. The investigation is still going on, as this happened only 2 hours ago (5 pm local time, 4 pm GMT).
