Just now I saw a typo. It’s a Gatling gun with a G at the end, not Gatlin…
Skybert, all Belgian F-16s have a part of that housing used for Carapace RWR (see article on my site). So if we would ever decide to use a dragchute, the whole to pack it on, would be only have the size of a normal Viper! Wouldn’t want to be a crewchief then!

As a crewchief on the electric jet, many years ago,I remember scanning those nozzleplates for cracks, and how difficult it was to shove that brakechutepack into that housing while standing on top of the cockpit ladder with swivel wheels…. :rolleyes:
