The USAF version of the JSF is rumored to be a true 9G fighter with the capability to supercruise at Mach 1.4 and boasting a top speed of Mach 2.0. The avionics will include an AESA radar with a range of 170 miles {2/3’s of F-22’s AGP-77} and an array of infared sensors with a full 360 degrees of coverage. All this for a fraction of what the F-22 costs. If this is the case I think the Pentagon will take another hard look at the F-22 order and quite possibly cut it back to token levels, if not axe it altogether.
