The second FSD F-22 has a metallic paint finish quite unlike anything seen before on a combat aircraft; this innovation has gone completely unnoticed by the aviation press. Could someone with industry knowledge comment on the nature of this finish and the purpose of its implementation? It seems to be unique, as the 1st, 3rd, and subsquent F-22’s are finished in the conventional manner.
