I have two questions about the F-4 for anyone who can answer them. In the movie Iron Eagle II, F-4’s play the role of Russian MiG-29’s. In one of the scenes you can see two F-4’s in the background with the red and white arrow of 105 Sqn ‘The Scorpion Sqn’ on the sides of the fuselage. I know they were actually Israeli F-4E’s because the IAF was a large help in making this movie. Now, this movie was made in 1988, but according to the AFM Phantom Special, the Scorpion Sqn used the F-4 from 1975 to 1986. Why were those two planes painted like that. I know it wasn’t for the movie because in all the flying scenes, the two F-4’s don’t have the stripes. Anyone know what is up? My second quesiton is if the F-4 is carrying a quartet of IR missiles (AIM-9, Python, Shafrir, etc.) on the inboard pylons, what stores can still be carried on those two plyons? Anyone have an answer to these questions? Oh yeah, does anyone know where I can find a picture of and A-37B or OA-37B Dragonfly in the gunship grey colors they were painted in during the mid to late 80’s. I have a model of one like that but I can’t find any pictures. Thanks for any help I get.
