F-4D photos from SEA

Here are the scans of some F-4D slides I have recently purchased. If I am not wrong, one of the aircraft was 68-8720 which shot down a Mig-17 before being lost in the same combat by another Mig-17. The slides are still in the mail. So I am hoping to get more info when they are here .

Enjoy,

Batur

Phantastic shots!

Are those AIM-4 Falcon rounds on the inboard portion of the inboard underwing pylons?

To echo The Bump, it’s great to see them doing AAR from the boomer’s position. Good stuff!

Thanks for your comments. I just received a mail from Michael France who confirmed that the F-4D seen in the photo was 66-8720 as the other two s/n 6X-X720 F-4D, namely the 65-0720 and 66-7720, were not in SEA in 1968. So, if I am not wrong, this is the first photo of 66-8720, and because all slides were taken in 1968, the photo must be taken shortly before the 8720 was shot down on 18 January.

Enjoy,
