F-86 in the Woods!

F-86 Folks:

Good day & Greetings fm across the pond!

This F-86D/L? AF 53-1061 can bee seen fm Hwy I-55 S. of Jackson, Mississippi, semi-abandoned. It’s an interesting sight fm a distance but not when you get close to it. There are plans to move it to a nearby park in Baton Rouge, LA (USS Kid) but the project seems to be hold pending ownership of the bird since c. 2012. We think it deserves a better home!!

It does indeed deserve a home, but from the WIX forum I’d assumed it was all in hand?

Hi All,
At first glance like you say looks a good candidate for a restoration. I have always like this variation of the Sabre, Bird Dog’s are the name aren’t they ? need to see more of these 50’s era aircraft flying, although if as you say close up it’s not very interesting it could still yield a lot of parts for other restorations.
No good comes of planting them in parks just to rust away, I am sure if enough people know about it pending move someone will have an Idea to restore her to her former glory.

Geoff.
