F-86 Sabre

I am writing a piece, and I would like to know if anyone has some in-depth info. No specs. or stats, but what it was like to actually fly the plane. I don’t necessarily need war stories, but a pilot’s account of what it was like to fly one of the world’s greatest aircraft. Since I have never flown one myself, a personal view into this matter would be great…

😀 How about these then,i can’t begin to understand why the pilot has a big grin on his face.

I’d bet he’d have an even bigger grin on his face if ever took that trip out to Cape Town and got behind the stick of XS452 again, which he used for courting his wife on the odd occasion many moons ago at Akrotiri…….. 😎

If he asked nicely Barry might even paint the fin pink again….. 😀

We really should get some Key Forum T-Shirts made up! You must have been standing right next to me Trumper and I didn’t even know. I was aware of someone walking around me with a big lense ( ooh er! ) but I was intent on watching the Sabre going on’s. 😀

Yep, it’s been great at Duxford today!! 😀

1 practice display from Cliff Spink and 2 from Mark Linney – what can I say pure pleasure. 🙂

One thing I was surprised to find out today was that the ejection seats for the F86A were made by Mitsubishi, so soon after they had been fighting each other!
