F111 Belly Landing

I have just seen on BBC News 24 an F111 belly landing.

I didn’t catch it all, and there is nothing on their website at present. However, the pilot was awarded a ripple of applause for the extremely high level of airmanship shown.

Apparently a wheel “fell off” during take-off, and the news said that the “entire fleet” has been grounded until more is known about the incident.

Do many countries still use this aircraft?

Edit: I did initially think this took place at RIAT, but I can now see that I was wrong on that score.
