The F22 will not survive the Bush Administration defense review IMHO. Its also possible the JSF will be drastically reduced or canned. These systems are regarded as cold war relics and not part of the new defense posture. Hopefully something good will be cooked up in their places, but what? A manned fighter program will have to be maintained as UCAVs are far away in the future.
What would replace/supplant the F22/JSF? An improved twin engined airplane with even more radical design that would merge these two aircraft? Any ideas?
