FAAM Albatros

Reading in FlyPast – the Albatros replica at Yeovilton has headed west to join Jerry Yagen’s collection. Are the FAAM getting anything in exchange or is it a sale?

Never did understand why it was there and by all accounts it was a death trap when it flew with Lesure Sport, I seem to remember that they grounded it.

It was bought for an exhibition on the RNAS in WWI as an example of the German equipment in use at that time, once the exhibition was removed it was stored in Cobham Hall. After a number of years in store it was decided that it would not be needed in the future and was sold last year, it left Cobham Hall in September 2012.

It was a straight sale not an exchange for anything
