The Battle of Britain Spitfire pilot’s Teddy Bear mascot was also recently withdrawn from sale, I believe, due to doubts as to its provenance.

I have recently bought a ‘repro’ copy of the execute signal. After reading the various posts and the article. I will have to have a quick look.

What is Twitter?

Really?

I am sure it’s not just me that uses multimedia, this thread isn’t about Facebook or Twitter my point was to spread the word to increase public awareness of these fraudulent activities. If you would prefer to engrave it onto a lump of stone or paint it on your cave wall then please do. These fakes pollute the waters of the world of collecting and also Museums. Faking a missing telegram using a dead mans name is pretty low in my book. Hash tag out!

Well you will just have to tell people in the pub tonight!

For those that have FB and Twitter it is a great way of spreading the word, but a wize man once said “too many tweets make a TwXt”!!

but a lot of us do not have facebook or twitter

Well spotted regarding the type face,I recall a hoaxer who I caught out because the paperwork he supplied to support his story of restoring a Spitfire included invoices from several companies. The typed font was indentical including worn letters to the type in his letters to me.
