I was wondering does anyone have a definitive list of the serial numbers for the 10 Harrier GR3’s that took part in the Falklands conflict?
Thanks.

Might be worth merging this with existing Falklands Harrier thread, here http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=96169&highlight=falklands+harriers!

I think that the very last job I did in the RAF was to sit at the end of the runway with Stu Hall and a test box and checked the IFF’s of those first six a/c away. Then I left the RAF on terminal leave and drove out of the gates forever. Many friends and colleagues were on the “Conveyer”

My old man was one of those on the Conveyer!
Fast forward some 20 years and I was doing the same point and shoot IFF checks on Tonkas in sandy places, probably with the same test equipment too!

I sat on the cliffs near Plymouth one day & watched then doing “touch & goes” on the ramp/door at the stern of the Conveyor.

Were the Harriers that went down to the Falklands re-inforced with other GR3’s before the end of the conflict?
The conflict ended on 14th June 1982 so the answer to your question is in my previous post. The original six GR3 arrived on the Atlantic Conveyor and the four reinforcements were flown directly from Ascension Island to HMS Hermes (with in-flight refuelling obviously).

Were the Harriers that went down to the Falklands re-inforced with other GR3’s before the end of the conflict? If so does anyone have information on the airframes involved?
Also does anyone have a definitive list of the Harrier GR3’s that served with the HARDET after the conflict?
My reason for asking is that I am trying to establish if GR3 XV752 served in Falklands.
Thanks
