Petro Balabuyev (born in 1931) was general designer of the O. K. Antonov aviation scientific-technical complex between 1984 and May 2005.
He participated in designing such aircrafts as AN-22 УAntei, AN-72, AN-74, AN-32, AN-28, AN-124 УRuslanФ and the biggest plane in the world AN-225 Mriya (Dream). Among his recent developments there are the passenger plane AN-140 and multi-purpose plane AN-3. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Consortium Medium Transport Plane.
