does enyone remember what the gannet sounded like…was they ever used in anger at eny time…..i do know the AEW version was solely missed in the falklands

Never mind, don’t get to see much of the West German Gannets, Anybody got a photo of an Indonesian Gannet?

One or two more pics to add to the list. The first two are of G-BMYP/XL502 at Biggin Hill 6 June 1987 and the last three were taken at the museum at Rhoose on 1 October 1988. No. 3 is XL449, no. 4 is XG883 coded BY and 5 is XA459 coded E. All taken by me.

Had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of XL502 during her stay at Sandtoft.

What amazed me was the engineering involved in the aileron controls – they actually still work with the wings folded !!

My model of a COD4 will have to do.

Nothing wrong with being a FAIRY mate, Still got the sparks on my uniform, I’ve got to get up to Elvington sometime, I was going to visit there last time I was up that part of the world back in 2002, but my plans were scupped when Canopener Al had a little argument with a Tucano which landed him is hospital and I had to go and look after his kids.

What happend to the one that was at Sandtoft (AEW3 if memory serves), Its been almost four years since I’ve been up that neck of the woods. (The Mods suggest that somebody started a Gannet Thread, so well done mate).
