Fantastic Weekend

Well what a fantastic weekend, 3 1/2 hours logged in the 172 over the last few days, the visability over Norfolk / Suffolk today was superb and for the most part the flying was pretty smooth. I think I may just about have come to terms with Old Buckenham’s runway yesterday (nothing like that experienced in America) and after a superb lunch (being overlooked by Moggy’s photograph on the wall) there was time for a few circuits before heading off home to put the aircraft to bed prior to spending the rest of the weekend rolling and cutting the runway before relaxing with a cold beer and a superb barbecue.
Still haven’t convinced a certain person that she wants to get in an aircraft with me as yet though, not even with the offer of lunch in France one weekend soon. I will keep working on that plan though.
Lets hope the weather stays as good for next weekend.

The East Anglian advatage rule is omnipotent and supercedes all others. and it’s Mrs Trellis from North Wales, by the way. 😀

The East Anglian advantage means that any non aviation persons are quickly removed and become replaced with an improved and more compatible version.

You will be relieved to know that only one Auster was spotted at N.Weald this weekend.

However, Janie (the one with the checkered nose) was there, so it was well worth going. 🙂

Oh was that the graceful looking machine that was in the circuit at the same time as me????????? I was a little busy to take a good look. 😀

Only one Auster? What a shame  , I only saw one Auster as well all weekend, but not at North Weald.

If you think you can impose the “East Anglian advantage” rule amendment after 16:35 on a Friday, you may be met with great opposition.

Now what is the name of the lady who always writes in?

And while you are thinking that AusterF and I have confused most of you and this thread has lost it’s aviation theme, the theme tune was written by Ron Goodwin, so there is an aviation twist.

I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue what you are talking about. 😉

I believe it took place at Cheddar Gorge and the lovely Samantha took the minutes. 😀

🙂 I think you have a duty to tell us what it is now that you have mentioned it. It’s in the Forum Agreement somewhere; Article 111: Schedule 4: subsection 12.4 if I remember correctly.

Sorry, have to correct you. It is in fact Schedule 5, Subsection 5.1(b)(i), which must be used in conjuction with and cross referenced to Article 7(a) of Annex 1 as invoked by the Forum (Mornington Crescent) Convention 2003.

Had another hour or so tonight, loving every second of it.

I bet if you were to take another woman flying she would change her mind pretty sharpish.

That is why there is a new person about, the last one got extremely cross about my talking to other females (not that it ever stopped me) so she was encouraged to leave, evidently incompatible with my life I feel.
I have a cunning plan however. 😉

Damien

You are very welcome. Those pictures are scary. I’m glad I never look out of the window when I’m doing that! 😉

I need one of those three-seat Waco’s so that you can bring MrsB with you next time.

Had a scoot around in the Extra yesterday. Circled the In-laws house (by request) at Biggleswade followed by aeros over Tempsford. Excellent stuff, great visibility and loooaaads of G. 😀

Have to agree. we did 4 sorties in the Yak yesterday and the visibility was getting better through the day.

In the morning we were playing with the clouds at 3,000 feet over Abberton Reservoir, then a trip to North Weald and back. In the afternoon we were doing aeros to the east of Bradwell Bay at 4,000 feet. Could see well beyond Felixstowe, which is about 25 nm.

My loops and rolls are definitely getting better!
