Fantasy Airforce

Following on from the Fantasy Fighter thread – anyone care to share their fantasy air force. For those who need a scenario –

You are the President of an oil rich island located in tropical environment with mixture of mountains, grass lands, desert and jungle, an area of 2 million square km with a population 50 million. The country needs to completely rebuild its air force from scratch after a protracted occupation. You aim to keep the country neutral, but it is in an unstable region with neighbours who have all previously had low level conflicts with your country during 30 years it was a dictatorship and there is a serious problem with smuggling and drug production in the jungle regions.

My fantasy air force for this made up country would be:

Basic Trainer
KIA KT-1 Trainer ~ 50 planes

Advanced Jet Trainer/COIN
KAI T-50 Golden Eagle ~ 40 planes + ~ 12 TA-50

Helicopter Trainer
Eurcopter AS350 ~ 12 helicopters

Utility Helicopter
Eurocopter Cougar ~ 40 helicopters

Transport/Utility Airplanes
Cessna Caravan ~ 12 aircraft in basic configuration, 4 in configured for ISTAR
CASA CN-235 Tactical Transport ~ 6 plus another 6 as CN-293 MPA for maritime patrol

Support Aircraft

SAAB 340 Erieye AWE&C ~ 1

Fighters

JF-17 Thunder with French Avionics set up to use IRIS-T, GBU-12 Bombs, CBU-100 Cluster Bombs and AM 39 Exocet as standard and integrate MBDA Meteor when it comes on line ~ 70

Rafale ~ 40

For a mix of lo/high fighters.
