Farnborough 2002

I am so excited today!

My Dad is in hospital so I thin thats why my mum and me did this as it kinda cheered him uptoday!

We got Farnborough Tickets and Gransstand Tickers firstly as we dont want to stand for all them shows!

We then got RyanAir Tickets as we are staying in Cork from 20-27th of July so on 26th July me and my Dad fly from Cork -> Stansted then Stansted -> Dublin on the 28th!

We then phoned around all the hotels in Farnborough and aparently got one of the last four rooms in Farnborough for two nights!

Then we got a hired Ford Forcus arranged with Europcar!!

It all looks to b a great weekend!

I then am getting a new Camera for it also!!!

:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P I am soooo spoilt!

I was wondering if there are any photo requests for the show as I will happily take pictures on demand for free!

Regards,

Andrew M

RE: Farnborough 2002

Boeing has never really ‘shown off’ their products are airshows. Just a few years back, I don’t remember when actually, was the first time they actually did a flying demonstration at one of the big airshows. I almost want to say it was with the 777-300 or the 737NG/BBJ. I do agree, however, that Boeing needs to wake up. They need to do something. 767-400 orders are lagging, as as orders for the the 757-300, which are their 2 most recent ‘varients.’ I hope the 777LR project falls through. I think they’ve only had orders from one airline, JAL, for that one. And the Sonic Cruiser, I don’t know about that one either. They just need to stick with developing a more high-performance varient of the 747, to compete with the A380. I think current customers of the 744 would be into that.

RE: Farnborough 2002

I’m staying in 5* (my home) accomodation about 15 minutes by train from the airport and am just waiting on me “FREE” tickets which are due any day now.

I’ll be taking me camera as well and really can’t wait, but as I said a couple of weeks back, the line-up is a litte disappointing compared to previous shows, especially when you only really like commercial aircraft.
