A selection from Saturday. Fortunately after a wet start the day stayed dry but very windy, as the poor Vimy crew found out.
This thread is somewhat Vulcan heavy 😛
Septic.
A couple of Italian airframes to kick the thread off.

Whilst on the subject of Bombers.

Nice set, Gary. The Vimy was certainly a heart stopping moment. Great skills by the crew to veer her away from the crowdline.

Great photos. I was in the grandstand on Saturday.
The Vimmy looked as if it nearly was heading for big trouble but then the aborted take off saved it.
The Vulcan was magnificient, as was the B1, BA609 tilt rotor protoype 2, Apache, F16 and EJ2000 and the B1.
The C-27J was also one that completely took my breath away in it’s STOL features, a nice baby brother to the C-130 Herc.

Some good shots there Gary, thanks for posting. I was having a cup of tea outside a cafe in Newbury on Saturday when I heard an aircraft flying over and it was the B1 with wings extended, presumably in its way back to Fairford.

Hi Gary
I was there on the Saturday and the ol heart missed a beat when the Vimy swerved on take off – fortunately nothing serious!
Do you know if the Macchi is airworthy or was it a replica?

Very nice Gary, you’ve caught the B-1B nicely.

Very nice Gary.
Glad I met you on Saturday. It looked for a moment that the Vimy was coming in my direction.

A final selection
Septic.
Firstly the Vimy which was caught on take off by a gust of wind that sent her off the tarmac and across the grass, wisely the pilot called it a day and appeared that the aircraft is OK.

Carolyn Grace turned up in ML407, but Farnborough is just too big for a solo Spit display.
