Farnborough Airshow Warning

Hi,

Just back from todays display. Be warned, due to excess heat most site generators are blowing up as the air con units are overloading them.

If you are coming this weekend I would advise to bring umbrellas and water as today 1hr before the end of the show they sold out of water. Be prepared for 35-40 degrees temperature with no shade onsite bar what you bring with you.

Just didnt want anyone getting heatstroke!

The Flight Simulator Pavilion (which we, Group Flight, are running) now is very well stocked in soft drinks. Forum members can get a free soft drink by coming and saying hello! We even have a small selection of beers and a sitting area in the shade directly infront of the middle of the flight display so the red arrows etc displays are immediatly infront of you. Kool eh….

Check out the Map as to where we are as we are not on the maps handed out.

Another warning:

Industrial Action on the South West Trains line will basically cancel trains to Farnborough from July 21st on.

that action has now been called off. travel on the Friday and Saturday on the trains should be without problems

Ok Water Bousers have been installed in various locations near the big screens behind Bombardier Static Display. Bring containers its just a tap on the end of the trailer!

The grass is dead and dusty, blankets or seats advised.

ANother question- a guy I was speaking to the other day told me it might be very difficult to get in without an advance ticket, and as I couldn’t get my act together in the last couple of weeks(too much drinking), I hadn’t order one, is this true?

just curious as I am going to Farnborough this weekend (gonna try going both days) but are you of aviation industry? I would have preferred to gone on a less busy-minus kids around than on the weekend! However I am aware that being just a Aerospace Engineering Graduate (4 July) doesn’t make make me an insider in the industry!

PS Oh ye it’s my first airshow so can’t wait either way!
