So far at Farnborough there have been announcements for the following:
– LionAir, converted its 30 options for 737-900ERs into firm orders, taking their total order for the type to 60;
– Kuwait based Load Air will take 2x 747-400ERFs;
– Pegasus leasing has taken over the Blue Panorama order for 4 787s (still to be leased to BP though) and ordered an additional 2 of the type;
– Afriqiyah, ordered 3 A330-200s, 6x A320s and 3x A319. Taken options on 3x A330-200s and 5 Airbus A320 family a/c.
– Go Air, 20x A320s and 10 options on the type (originally discussed in February)

how much are the total orders and commitments again for boeing (should be around 80 if you add some uncertain ones aswell). Talking to some people at Boeing Commercial devision they expected boeing to get close to around 100-110 orders at the show while they expected airbus to get about 120-150 . Seems like it might be a disapointing run for boeing this time around.

Is that “fiasco” the reason the Boeing order total was reduced to 65?
Nope, the Emirates 748F deal was more a gentlemens agreement than an order. That took 10 from the total.

Thanks.
I will put LOIs and MOUs on this list, for the sake of saving confusion. But they will appear in read and will not be counted toward the total.
EDIT: The QR fiasco has made me change my mind.. lol. Only firm orders will be listed.

Very surprising to see the order for 30 Il-114s. I was not even aware they where still in production!

A summary…
FI2006: Orders for 90 Airbuses narrow Boeing’s lead
David Kaminski-Morrow, Farnborough (21Jul06, 16:14 GMT, 335 words)Airbus closed its order gap on rival Boeing during the Farnborough air show after declaring firm agreements for 90 aircraft, plus commitments for another 92.
Boeing, in contrast, revealed only a select number of firm agreements, covering a handful of aircraft, which were not already counted on its order books.
Two strong orders for Airbus narrowbodies – comprising 40 from AirAsia and 20 from Wizz Air – have helped the manufacturer to claw back part of its deficit after a first-half tally revealed it was trailing Boeing by 376 aircraft.
India’s Go Air, plus lessors CIT and International Lease Finance (ILFC), accounted for another 25 aircraft, and three operators – Aegean Airlines, Air Caraibes and a private customer – took the other five.
Among the carriers committing to Airbus were Singapore Airlines, with a letter of intent to take 20 A350s and nine more A380s, and lease 19 A330s. Germany’s Blue Wings is to take 20 A320-family jets, while both Libya’s Afriqiyah Airways and Spain’s Marsans Group will each be acquiring 12 aircraft.
“This air show clearly demonstrated the confidence our customers are placing in Airbus to deliver the product they need,” says new Airbus chief Christian Streiff.
The European airframer puts the overall value of the agreements at $21.5 billion. Four of the customers placed options for another 58 aircraft between them.
While Boeing formally declared an order for 30 737s from Lion Air and 14 more from Aviation Capital Group, both had already featured on its books as undisclosed agreements. Spanish carrier Futura also revealed an order for three 737s.
Kuwait’s LoadAir has agreed to take a pair of Boeing 747-400ERFs and Boeing picked up orders for four more 787s from lessors ILFC and Pegasus Aviation. Indian start-up Flyington Freighters has agreed to purchase four Boeing 777 freighters.
Qatar Airways had been expected to formalise an order for 20 777s, aircraft which have been officially listed as undisclosed on Boeing’s books, but the airline says that unresolved issues and continuing discussions prevented it from publicising the deal.

Just added an order from Blue Wing that escaped my attention
By: Bmused55 - 21st July 2006 at 18:10
Still need to go on the list then…
Emirates 747-8F “order” was only a “heads of agreement” – I suppse that goes in read too? “Heads of agreement” – a none-binding document outlining the main issues, used by lawyers when drawing up a contract and serving as a guideline for both parties before any documents are legalised.
Either way, MOUs, LOIs, firm orders – they’re all more or less as likely as the other to result in sales. Just take a look at the 20x 777 firm order which Boeing had as unannounced and then said was for Qatar, which now Qatar are saying is off as evidence that an order is not a delivery until the airplane leaves the plant.

In that case, out comes the Emirates order 🙂
The fact that QR are mucking about shows that LoIs and MoUs are from from certain orders… hence my recent decision not to list known LoIs or MoUs.
Besides, “orders” for the “350XWB” cannot be orders untill the thing is officialy launched. They can only be LoIs.

So far all Airbus announcements today seem to be LoIs only.

I guess airbus can be happy that the ratio of b:a orders is not over 4:1 anymore. 😀 I really hope they will just congratulate boeing and stop worrying about figures. Okay, congratulating might be pushing it. :p
By: bring_it_on - 20th July 2006 at 21:05
Boeing just passed 500 orders for the year 2006 during the show . The tally now stands at a wopping 510 orders .

There is that 777 buy from the Indian group which is bound by them getting clearence from the Ministry of aviation and a permit to fly international
Although they’ve yet to get statutory clearance, the order is only based on this, it is not an LOI or MOU, but a firm order which can, like all orders, be cancelled. Therefore it should count towards the total. Given that they will not take delivery until ’09 and they aim to start ops this year with leased aircraft then they have plenty of time. But hey, what do I know?

Does anyone see anything on the list which I have listed as an order but is in reality only an LOI or MOU.
I want to list firm orders and options only
By: Bmused55 - 20th July 2006 at 07:29
Airbus were depressed when this came up in conversation yesterday. No firm interest (i.e. definete orders) was the impression given by a key executive.
Generally i think they know Boeing will win this year as they are probably doing better deals than Airbus can as they know its a huge PR coup.
Um, what product is that?
