It was announced on the show tannoy on Sunday 25 July just before the BBMF Lancaster took off to form up with the Spitfire and Hurricane for their display that word had just been received from No 10 Downing Street that funding for the BBMF was to continue.
It is 70 years since the Battle of Britain.
