Favourite Airline

I honestly can’t remember whether this topic has come up already (slap my hand if it has) but I think it would be interesting to know what you guys all rate as the best airline. This may be through previous experience, colour schemes or word of mouth…whatever.

Anyway, what is your favourite airline and why?

Regards

Ben

BA

My choice is BA.

They have very good connections and they fly nearly everywhere from London.

Biz and First class are very, very good. Some people will compare it unfavourably to SIA or Emirates, but BA is very nearly at the same level. Good for a big airline.

Also…they fly Concorde. That makes them win by default!

RE: Favourite Airline

i remember there was an Ambassador Airways in Combodia which was flying unregistered. It had a Avro 748 which was also unregistered. No body new about the airline which did 2 flights a month between two small towns on the Combodian border. The airline was discovered by a CNN reporter. The airline seized operations after that. Strange eh….

all airlines are good for something….otherwise they wont be flying. So having a best airline is very tough.

RE: BY

My favourite airline by far is Austrian Airlines. I flew them between London and Athens last summer, then Thessaloniki to London on the return, both time via Vienna. The service was amazing, as was the food. They have clean, modern aircraft and friendly, good looking flight attendants, wearing all red(the only thing that could have been better was if they wore all black!). To give an example, the flight between Thessaloniki and Vienna was only an hour and a half, we got fed a great meal, drinks, and several times throughout, the flight attendants came down the aisles with fresh roles. Pretty much the same gig on the other 3 segments, although I slept much of the first 2. Furthermore, the Lufthansa/Austrian lounge in LHR terminal 2 was amazing!

KLM

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 29-04-02 AT 12:50 PM (GMT)]The Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij, KLM, off course. The oldest indipendent airline of the world, opperating under its original name that is, A bit chauvinistic, but second Singapore Airlines, great, nice people, good entertainment, good food et cetera, what more could you want on a 14 hour flight???

regards,

JW

RE: Favourite Airline

EGNM – if you like the 757/A320/A321 and DC10, you’ll love the A330s. A charter airline offering seatback TVs for every passenger?

I could only really like the charters as I only fly with them, but Airtours and Britannia both rate very highly.
