This might seem like a strange topic, but i was just wondering what airports around the world you guys/girls like? This is an opinion poll thats why there are no options.
My Personal favourite (because i haven’t been to many) is Arecife in Lanzarote I like the way ATC turn the planes on approach at the last minute.

Has to be Coventry. There are at least two or three movements every…. say every week. The terminal facilities are out of bounds, if you sit in your car in the lane you are occasionally asked to move on. I was asked a few months ago by a VERY intelligent Police Officer what I was doing there. The binoculars, scanner and camera might have given him a clue. I resisted the temptation to ask if he was a detective. He listened to my explanation of what I was doing then spent the next 20 minutes driving up and down the lane glaring at me each time he passed. I thought it only polite to wave each time he passed. This seemed to have the effect of making his face very red. When I left I thanked him for his diligence, telling him that I felt very safe while he was around and that the high visibility patrols he and his colleagues were carrying out would be very effective in ensuring the safety of the airport.
As for favourites? LHR when the Queen’s Building was open was the best of my limited experience. Loved that place. Now it’s of at Hatton Cross and Myrtle Avenue and the visitors centre is a dead loss. BHX isn’t too bad but the outdoor area needs much work. The new car park is great though, right at the end of 33. Currently, MAN has to be the best. Good level surfaces with adequate ramps, good, clean toilets, plain but hot and filling food and a decent shop. Just £3 at weekends and £2 in the week has to represent the best value.
Regards,
kev35

Heathrow as Concord sits on the concrete between the two main runways next to the gate were the aircraft cross the road 🙂
Not pleasant sight in some regards, the poor old lady sitting exposed to the eliments all by her self, and no longer able to grace the skies 🙁

I would say Hong Kong as it’s so pax friendly, lots of light and open spaces. Beer is a bit expensive though.

I gotta’ disagree here, trip-seven. IAD has great terminal viewing, excellent facilities inside the terminals (TGIFridays amongst others, not unlike LHR), and it has a great model shop with a huge selection landside (used to be airside but they moved to expand www.airplanesuperstore.com). Not only can you move freely from terminal to terminal, but if you get really bored, you can just ride the terminal buses over and over again. Those get you really good viewing on the tarmac as they move about. Aside from the endless examples of United, there is a decent variety of other airlines, as well. Anyway, my favourite has to be HNL followed closely by SYD, SIN, AMS and SFO. I also like LAX, IAD, ORD, JFK, VIE and LHR. Even though connecting through LHR absolutely sucks, I enjoy the variety of aircraft while viewing in UA’s lounge in T3.

I have to agree with everyone that likes Heathrow the best varity of planes and frequent. I also like the view from Gatwick’s terrarce except how you cant see all the runway. I seen my first 747 at Gatwick a BA.

Here here Dusseldwarf, well said, you captured my feelings perfectly. I gave up going to Pprune after just two months because it got so bad, that’s the last thing we want for the this forum….wise up Jean, we value your input, but oly when you have something decent to say, which has been very rare of late.

LHR for me, Great range of everything there, airlines and aircraft alike! Bustling scenes which i like to see.
Also, not really an airport, But i have to give Fairoaks the Thumbs up too. Very busy there also.

Oh – and by the way, LHR/AMS/ZRH would have to be my favourites so far:D

Jeanske_SN
I’ve never liked your posts very much as you are usually nothing but plain rude to others on this (otherwise) friendly forum.
YOU, sir, are the boring one! I think YOU should just read the forum and stop posting replies – they are unnecessarily abrupt. It’s people like you that are the reason I visit this forum a bit less these days. The same thing happened on PPRuNe – it got so bitchy, I just can’t bear to visit it anymore.
Please stop before someone makes a complaint to the Moderator about you.

Jeanske, totally agree with what everyone else has said here. While some topics posted by new forum members recently haven’t been great, this is a good one and posted by someone who isn’t new to the forum so lay off him.

Jeanske, you obviously have no idea how to handle certain situations, and make far too many unnecessary comments. If you want to provide criticism, do so contructively. You are far from perfect, son. For instance, your handling of the Skylinerworld situation was totally unacceptable. You go and lambast the kid, when you’re only a couple of years older than he is. Grow some chest hair before you try and assert some authority, little man.
P.S. A little while back on one of your posts you commented to me, “You must be a newbie in aviation.” I’ve been an enthusiast six years longer than you’ve been alive, kid.
