Favourite scenes from the movies

As it says.

My personal favourites are:

1) Jaws – the shark’s first appearance, and the ending
2) Battle of Britain – the “Northern Raid” sequence, where the RAF kicks major Luftwaffe ass!
3) Dark Blue World – low-level train strafing sequence
4) The Matrix – the rescue of Morpheus and the ensuing helicopter crash – sweeet!
5) Die Hard – toss up between a) Bruce Willis talking to the female cop on the radio – “No ******* ****, lady, do I sound like I’m ordering a pizza!” – b) the C4 down the lift shaft, or c) the helicopter on the roof
6) The Great Escape – McQueen’s motorbike jump
7) Dog Soldiers – Spoon fighting the werewolf in the kitchen
8) Apocalypse Now! – helicopters attacking Vietnamese village
9) Seven – the head in the box!

The bit in ”The Matrix Revolutions” when Neo confronts the Machines and the spikey leader Machine says ‘SPEAK!’.

The self-destruction of the USS Enterprise in ”Star Trek – The Search for Spock”.

1.John Travolta’s monologue at the start of Sworfish! So cool and suave!
2.The car chase in Ronin through the streets of Paris and earlier in the movie, through old Nice!
3.Jason Statham’s fight scene in The Transporter when he is pissed after they destroyed his BMW! The music had a lot to do with me liking this scene!
4.As others have mentioned, the opening twenty-eight minutes of Saving Private Ryan.
5.Goldeneye, pick one, it’s all good! 🙂
6.Mrt and Mrs Smith, the fight scene between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt when they try to kill each other in their own home!
7.The split second a$$ whooping Jason Bourne inflicts on the embassy staff in The Bourne Identity! 😀
8.The blood bath in the original Blade! What a way to introduce a character who means business!
9.Will Smith and Martin Lawrence going to town on the poor kid who has come to pick up Martin Lawrence’s daughter! Never laughed so hard in my life!
And finally….
10.The Super Hornet trying to avoid a SAM in Behind Enemy Lines!

Thruthfully, there are so many of them, yet these would be the ones I can recall when I think of scenes which have glued themselves to my grey matter! Cheers! 😀

Has to be the end of Blade Runner when Roy goes after Deckard, no contest, listen to this in surround sound.
Band of Brothers, the assault on the German battery.
Thin Red Line, the attack up the hill and the taking of the Japanese position.
2001, the initial sequence of flying to the moon via the space station.
Lawrence of Arabia, the attack on Aquba.
Oh Brother Where Art Though, the Soggy Bottom Boys recording session.
Fisher King, the dance sequence in the Grand Central Station.
Sexy Beast, the boulder rolling down the hill into the swimming pool.
Saving Private Ryan, the German assault on the town at the end.
Empire of the Sun, the attack on the base by P-51’s, ‘I can taste the cordite in my mouth’ etc.
Godfather Pt 1, the shooting of the police chief and mayor by Al Pucino in the restaraunt.
A Bridge Too Far, the opening attack by XXX Corps on the German positions, ( have to put this in as me dad actually took part in this )
The Train, the attack around the tunnel by the spitfire, oh, and the scene where the carriage roofs were whitewashed followed by the A26’s flying low over the top.
Piece of Cake, the entire final episode.
The Longest Day, the poor sod getting snagged on St Mere Eglise church.
American Werewolf in London, the bit where Jenny Agutter, sorry, got carried away thinking about it, the rotting werewolves appear as the SS and blow everyone away.
Braveheart, the titles at the end.
Das Boot, the end, when the sub returns to La Rochelle and suffers the inevitable attack, despite it being Harvards.
Lord of the Rings, Gandalf being dragged into the fiery depths.
The English Patient, the demise of the Indian bomb disposal officer at the booby trapped fountain, brought tears to my eyes.
Catch 22, the scene where John Voihgt is walking along the runway with the CO and the smoking B-25 lands, crashes and they ignore it, actually the opening scene of that film is pretty cool as well.
I give up.

Another couple to add to my list:

Aliens – the dropship escape from LV-426, with Horner’s pounding music – great stuff!

Leon – where Stansfield gets in his cheap shot, and Leon gives him the ring for the hand grenades that he has strapped to him. A tearjerker, but bloody fantastic payback, too!

1) Well, all of the aerial scenes of the Battle of Britain are great, but the one where all the Hurricanes and Spitfires mass to kick Luftwaffe ass is great, and also one where the Spitfires are attacking the bombers, and after one of them hits the sea the Battle of Britain music starts up, love that bit every time.

Thats my favourite too, the music always me get tears in my eyes- similar to when Lee Mallory says:

“This should give them something to think about.” But the epitome of the film has to be the calm way that one pilots just acknowleges the call join with a friendly squadron as

“I see ’em, I see ’em- Bloody Marvelous!!” All the combat talk during that three minute scene is why im so indebted to all veterans.

The start of Top Gun where they are launching and recoverying F-14’s to the ‘Danger Zone’ music……sends shivers down my spine hehe

Apocalypse now, helicopters attacking the Vietnamese village

Battle of Britain, same scene as Rlangham, Spits and Hurri’s kickin Luftwaffe ass.

Memphis Belle when they think she hasnt made it and then low and behold she appears and crash lands.

The part in Black Hawk down, where they hunt that hog

The scene in Team America where Kim Jong takes on Hans Blix 😀

There’s a few more that I just can’t think of at the moment
