I think the most ‘attractive’ aircraft being flown commerically these days has to be the BAe-146. I’ve never had the chance to fly on one, but I would love to one day.
The worst aircraft being flown commerically has to be the 757. An aircraft I have hated for a long time. It doesn’t seem like the work of Boeing as it is so very different to other aircraft which the company manufactures. The nose of this aircraft is unique, I have to admit, but it’s the way in which the aircraft is so skinny that makes me dislike it so much.

i’m not a big cicil aviation fan but concorde would be my vote for the best and for the worst – umm dunno.

why dosen’t someone post a poll thread with the most popular and popular worst

The best looking aircraft in my opinion are:
747-400,BAe 146,A330 and the L-1011 (Tristar)

The worst looking for me are:
Most Russian aircraft(with the exception of the TU-204)The A300 and the 767.

My favourite Aircraft are:
Trislander,ERJ 135/145,757,A320 and the BAC one-Eleven.

Worst Looking: 757, Yak-40, Tu-154
Favorites: 1. 707,Avro RJ,DC-9 series,Saab 340B
Just plain like: A300-600ST Beluga

I like some others too, but those are the main ones.

my opinion best looking b757,worst that monstrosity metroliner looks like the undecarriage is made of cocktail sticks and to fy in it you would need to be lying down .:-) 🙁

The 747 400 has surely got to be the most impressive looking plane ever. Just for it’s sheer size. It’s so big it hardly looks like it’s moving as it rotates.

Nothing gets attention at airports more than these jumbo’s.

I love the look of all the Airbus models. Particually the 320/330/340’s.I love the uniformity they seem to have. They are very obviously part of they same family.

Not sure about the new 340 600 though. It looks very out of proportion, although I’m sure it will fly a treat.

As for boeing, the NG 737’s and 777’s are fantastic.

Favourite has to be the Concorde, most graceuce plane ever build.

Boeing 777
Airbus 330

I saw a superb example of an A340 in Brussels in September, I just had to get it on video, it was at the terminal before it flew out to Tokyo. I never thought then it would be the last A340 I would see in that superb blue livery.

I asked the same thing of fighters in the AFM forum.
I think it depends on the class of airliner, it’s very difficult to pick one, it depends on the role. I can’t believe how much support there is here for the Tristar! I can’t stand the way the third engine is incorporated into the tail. Harmonious…NOT! One of my worst.

I know it sounds like racism, but I can’t appreciate any of the Russian stuff except the Tu-144. They all have too many frames around the cockpit glazing and they look a little unrefined in their execution from an aesthetic point of view.

Although the Airbus product is undoubtedly commercially sound, and it’s great to see a company offering a balance to Boeing’s product, I think the Airbus fleet looks a little too generic. It lacks soul.

There are a great many ugly looking things, mostly from the 50’s, like the Argosy, the Bristol Freighter, but I can’t remember them because I tend to focus on the beautiful ones, which I shall now do: I’ve always liked the 50 series DC-8’s and the -62 far better than the B707. Far more elegant and graceful. I think for the time being the B757 represents the quintessential narrow body until the Sonic Cruiser comes along (will that be classed as a narrow body?) I would have said the absolute definitive shape for a subsonic wide-body airliner was the B767-200 until the B777-200 came along. I like the turboprop Do328 a great deal as well. It’s very slick. The Grumman Gulfstream GV is very elegant as well. I can easily understand why someone would like the B747, and I actually like the SP as well because of its tall tail. There will always be a special place in my heart for the B2707-300, but the most elegant, striking, harmonious, beautiful aircraft of all time would have to be the Concorde. Without a doubt.

V1, a)Is their any plane you actually like cos from the list that you dont like there can’t be many left in the world!!

and b) personally i hate all Rusian made aircraft. But i am sure this pic below will make a difference to your appritation of concorde which is feature in the current mag!

the 777 300 is a great bird
hate the a340 its so uncomfortable as singapore airlines said we a getting rid of them because our customers dont like them.

Although I do like the 737`s!!

My favourites are Avro RJ/BAe 146, A320 family (318,319,320,321),A330,II-114,SF340,Jetstream 31&32

For me my favourites would be Super VC10, DC10, DC9 and BAC1-11 also the DC8 -63 and the like, the real stretched ones and in the old CP air livery. Also Fokker 50 for the good view.

Least favourites, Tridents most 737s although travelled on a series 800 of Sabre Airways that was quite nice. The 146 i think is cramped.

The A-340

The A-340 is a wonderfull aircraft. The last Sabena flight today was a A-340
The Swissair A-340’s are ofcourse extremely ugly. Still the same old coloursheme … stupid white cross on an ugly red wing. But the Sabena A-340’s with the blue colours … damn, what a pity.

My favourite aircraft to look at and to fly on is the Airbus A 300. To me it is beautiful, especially the nose section (not as ugly as the 737/757) as well as the tail section (not as droopy as the 767). Inside it is pure pleasure with lots of space and one of the quietest cabins in the sky. Take-offs are always nice with those CFM engines producing enormous levels of thrust. It is ageing now but boy, what a nice aircraft. For long haul flights it has to be the A 340. Quiet and comfortable, I’ll take it over the 747-400 anyday…..

there is simply no contest
the B777 is simply the most graceful and beatiful aircraft.
The -300 is in my opinion THE aircraft when it comes to looks.
Of the -200srs I like those powered by General Electric GE90`s.
As for the worst looking, the A310 and 767-200 gets my vote, closely followed by the F28.
