according to CAC sources, the first flight of the new FC-1 fifghter is to take place very soon, although the exact is still not being diclosed.

the airforce test pilot asigned to CAC-weiqiangjiag will be the pilot taking the FC-1 on its first flight, CCTV will cover the test flight live when it happens.

weiqiangjiang test flighted a/c such as the j7III, j7IIIA, j7E, j7PG, j10 etc, and is a very capable and experiance test pilot.’

the article then goes on to give a little more history on the FC-1 program and possible guests that may appear at the first flight etc.

well, if this is true, then we are for a treat as someone is bound to record the flight and post it somewhere, so we’ll most likely also get to see it.

CAC must be pretty confident to allow this, and it is a major break with ‘tradition’-when new fighters only make public appearances after it has already enter service and became opporational.
