how bout a comparison between these two in sales and capabilities..
both aircraft are attempts to develop something indigenously.. but both are powered by foreign engines at the moment, not to mention FC-1 based off MiG design with Mig assistance.. Golden Eagle with Lockheed assistance..
both will be capable of using BVRAAM (SD-10 vs AMRAAM)
based on Huitong’s site (20 million) for FC1 and Flug-revue’s 22 million for the COMBAT version of the A-50/F-50, about the same price..
both going to be marketed around the world as a replacement for F-5s MiG-21s etc.
pros FC-1.
probably slightly cheaper, already has big order with Pakistan, Egyptian interests too.
cons FC-1
engine is still smokey lots of pics to prove it, new technologies are unproven for now. no two seater version.
pros A-50/F-50
exists as a 2 seater and Single seat prototype to unroll soon. F404 engine cleaner and uses less fuel consumption than RD-33/93. Uses proven technology. S.Korea already ordering a significant amount and now being marketed to UAE.
