FCA Scheduled GLA-PFO

Airline First Choice Scheduled
From: Glasgow Intl
To: Paphos
Departure Time: 09:00
Arrival Time: 16:10 (Local time)
Flight Number: DP080
Aircraft: 752 G-CPEV
Total cost: £315 for 2adults and 1infant

Arrived at Glasgow Airport’s Terminal 1 at 06.20 and went straight to desk 34 for check in, other desks for this flight were 35 and 36. Took 5mins to check in and went straight threw to International departures and went to the J&R tennent bar for breakfast and got a window view looking over the middle domestic pier were there were 2 parked A321s and a few other bmi aircraft and BA 737s. The window also gave a good view of the right hand side of the international pier with a MyTravel, Thomson and Thomas Cook 757s. At 8.15 we started the 10min walk to gate 30 at the very end of the international pier for boarding. Started boarding at 08.30 and was done very swiftly. Aircraft pushed back taxied out to the runway and we were airborne bang on time.

We received our in-flight breakfast about 50mins into the flight and it was free of charge or included in the flight price. Breakfast was the normal sausages and egg with a choice of drinks. After the cabin crew had cleaned up the meals they came threw the aircraft with a second round of drinks, which were all roughly £2. Flight was smooth all the way down to Paphos and with clear skies from Croatia onward. About 40mins before landing at PFO cabin crew came round with a choice of duty free good, none of which I bought for a change.

In-flight entertainment was ok but I couldn’t even tell you what the in-flight movie was as I did not watch it. I just had the audio system on most of the flight that consisted of songs such as Girls Aloud, Eminem – like toy solders and other recent releases.

Landing in Paphos was smooth and around 20mins ahead of schedule. We then exited the aircraft via the steps at the frond with passengers also exiting at the back we were then bussed to the terminal were we spend around 30mins waiting on the luggage. We then left the terminal and got a taxi to Larnaca, which cost around CYP100.

I only flew on this service because during the winter there is only one flight a week between Glasgow and Larnaca and it with Thomas Cook and as it was booked fairly last minuet TCX were looking for £500pp. Other ways to get to LCA were all flying GLA-ATH-LCA and I didn’t really want to change aircraft with a young child so that is why we chose to fly to Paphos but I will consider using this service again and I look forward to my FCA flight this summer from GLA to POP as I was very impressed with the service we received from First Choice Airways.

Just thought I would add a “fantastic” quote I herd when at GLA. A FlyBe prop aircraft was taxing in after its arrival and a woman at the table next to us said “what you cant see from this angle is that aircraft actuly has a propeller on the nose of the aircraft” no matter what angle I looked at it I couldn’t see this prop. Grrrrr I hate when at the airport hearing comments from people who know nothing and try to show off and fail miserably. I felt like say “well actually no its doesn’t.

Threw is past tense for Throw. I don’t think the F/A’s threw themselves around the cabin 😉

I believe they do at Hooters Air
