just had a wacky thought but not that wacky. I think you can get a government loan as long as you have around £150,000 to back it up. With this you can get approx. £3,000,000. As my name suggests that i own an airline thus with £3m i could supposedly lease 1 ATR 42-300 for a year or 3 Beech 1900-C or an EMB 120 What do you say is it an idea to build apon. I would call it UK xpress and serve from Exeter.:D 😀

Plus the fact that ZRH is massively congested (there’s still a problem with overflying German territory on aproach), and teh fact that they’re now operating to BSL from STN, 50 miles up the road, does make it look as if EZY will very soon be pulling out of ZRH altogether.
whats the issue with over flying german turf?

Haha Exeter mentioned on the boards!!! I’m gonna have to stick up for it!!! It actually does have fairly reasonable transport links, situated on the A303 and 3 mins drive away from the M5. Also 15 mins bus trip from the centre of the town. So on that front I think it will make a good hub (flybe. agrees). In addition, it has a fairly large market, including the whole of Devon and Cornwall who can only up to now use Bristol (an extra hour away).
No trouble getting slots (!!) and a new terminal on the way. Perfect!! Lol

i wouldnt be able to afford anything in London
By: A380!! - 13th April 2004 at 18:34
Do you really think Ecxeter is viable as a hub? it does not have particularly good transportation infrastructre and it has a rather limited market (mostly lesuire).
I suggest you target the small airports in the London metro area. Its all about having a base in London – because if you dont, you miss out on a huge slice of the cake.
Eye airports such as London Luton, City and Stansted. Dont go for the congested mega hubs like LGW and LHR. Also, you should think about saving funds in case of any fianicial problems. Set aside a few million in case you need it later on (if you get a loan). You should also target the under-served markets, not just the usual spots that already have existing airline links. Eg – London Luton – Dundee, London City – Bordeaux, London Luton – Zurich (i think EZY are going to suspend some of their flights due to slot problems so less competition).

im only talking Exeter or Esbjerg, London City, Zurich, Marsielle, Geneva, Aberdeen
By: A380!! - 13th April 2004 at 16:04
It varies. Qantas recentley bought a single slot at LHR for 27 Million pounds.

im honestly thinking about setting that imparticular airline later in life but 1 question do hub prices get cheaper as the airport gets older. How much do landing rights cost for an airport
