A FedEx DC-10 appears to have a gear collapse on landing causing the right wing to hit the ground and burst into flames. Here’s a link to a news story for this event. The video is pretty good and shows amature footage of the crew and passengers evacuating the aircraft as it burns. Only minor injuries to the people on board.

I have severe doubt’s it’ll get fixed. The Damage is way too much!.
My bet is they’ll part it out to provide spares for the remainder of their fleet.
Besides, FedEx have 20 or 30 odd DC-10s and MD-11’s sitting in deserts waiting to be converted to MD-10s and brought into service.

Thanks WD.
Does someone know if they have plans to fix it or will it be scrapped?

This picture was taken a bit further away as we taxied back out to the runway. The previous picture was taken during the landing through the captains windshield. 🙂 It was his landing.

Here’s the aircraft that ran off the runway minus it’s FedEx paint. They cleaned it up but there is still some fire/smoke damage visible.

First, here’s a picture of only part of the FedEx ramp in Memphis that you fly over on approach.
