I’m not terribly familiar with aircraft types.
I’m curious if the lighting configuration on this fedex plane is typical ?

I’m referring to the three lights on the forward fuselage. Two near the ‘F’ in FedEx and one in the lower cockpit area.

On both the DC-10/MD-11 you have.
Fuselage (forward of wing root), one runway-turn off light (lower one) and one wing illumination light (upper)
Forward fuselage – One retractable landing light per side.
Nose gear – two fixed lamps (dual element) which are both landing and taxi lights.

Good! Would seem to be a similar installation in this photo although not illuminated, but function unknown.
