Felix the Cat

Here’s a little story, A very good friend of mine, now sadly departed flew Lancasters with 103 & 550 squadron, completing 38 ops and awarded the DFC.
On every Operation he flew with his mascot, Felix, he hung him in the roof of his cockpit. When he passed away i was gifted ‘Felix’ amoungst other items of his wartime days with the RAF.
Some years ago, a psyshic friend of ours was shown him, without any prompting duly disliked him, she said that she felt a sense of evil, that she thought he had been in a fire, or been part of some terrible disaster ?
what she did not know was that she was right in a way………….He had, imagine what was going on below him night after night over enemy citys !

On a recent visit to the excellent museum at East Kirkby, a very kind lady, agreed to hang Felix in the cockpit of ‘Just Jane’ for a photo, and here he is !

My thanks to Louise at East Kirkby for taking the photo.

Nice story. Maybe it’s not too late for therapy for Felix.
