Maybe the mosquito photos will be useful for modellers building the Airfix 1/24 scale version!
Not just for the modellers – thanks for posting.

Replica fuselage, one side perspex’ed, so you can see the innards and load.

Interesting comments Redhill. I too have just suggested a similar weekend away in Yorkshire too! The compromise is York Minster in my weekend… Hey, ho, at least I’ll get to see the Halifax…

Devon VP967
We are trying to carry on your hard work, and she is coming on nicely, she also has a Mosquito for a neighbour and a Vampire(D H corner we call it) ,plus Friday the 13th the Halifax. As it is on display in our T2 hangar and worked on during opening times she attracts quite alot of warranted attention.

Thanks Blue 2 and Mantog,
Nice to see her back together again, never thought she would be within spitting distance of a Halifax! Also nice to see her in a hanger, she almost looks ready to fire up again. The YAM team have done well, even though the old girl sat outside at Redhill for almost 10 years, when we took her apart I was pleased to see that the condition was pretty good. Makes all the money spent and all the hard work put in by those involved in the project worth while, glad she found a good home, we had a lot of fun along the way, now to drag the wife up to YAM for a “romantic” weekend! 😀

Mantog, I hope you don’t mind, but I took a couple of pics of redhillwings’ old Devon at the weekend. Thought I’d sneak them in here for him to see.

Mantog, you didn’t happen to see my old Devon did you? VP967, I hear it is making good progress and will join their growing number of ground running airframes.

Pleased to see the meteor NF14 looks in good nick. That particular aircraft appears in my logbook a few times.

Whats the plans for the mossie taxi runs or just at idle?
Got some photo’s of that with the sump off and a few other shots somewhere.

Ah well I did take a couple of the Victor, I’ll upload them tonight! Speaking of Elvington, any chance the full scale airshows could ever return? Such a shame they stopped, it was my favourite airshow – loved going up on the Friday after work and camping for the full weekend. Although it was a big show it still had a more ‘personal’ feel to it than others I go to.

Tony’s still plugging away with the Mossie don’t worry, making slow but steady progress. We’re all looking forward to seeing her run! Ahem mantog. Nice shots, but you seem to have forgotten to photograph a certain large jet! ;):D
