Fg Off Lionel Horner DFC

Fg Off Lionel Horner DFC was a Lancaster navigator with 50 Squadron at Skellingthorpe from August 1943 onwards, and having completed his first tour, started a second with the same squadron a few months later for a final tally of 33. This included no fewer than 15 operations to Berlin, twice going there on four consecutive ops during his first tour.

A typically modest man who I was priviledged to interview a couple of months ago, Lionel sadly passed away last Friday 11 November.
