Grumpy’s in RAF colours – you’re thinking of the Duke of Brabant’s B25. And yes, the Dutch colours really are quite head-turning.
Talking of TFC though, their website’s just been updated with some news on the P51C, P40, and Gladiator.

I like Grumpy too, i just think the Dutch scheme rocks!
Is she TFCs hack or somthing? I thought it was odd a fighter group flying a bomber.

TFCs B25 isnt that authentic either, and while we dont really care the “craze” in america seems to be having working bomb doors, full weapons load etc. I have heard TFCs is completely modern inside, and any Yank buying her would have to spend a fortune refitting her.
Myself, i love that Dutch schemed example!

As far as I know TFC have been trying to sell the B25 for at least a year. The problem is nobody wants to buy it as there are so many of them about and they are not as exciting or well known as other types.

I know I’ve said it before, but I think it is worth repeating that I think the Mitchell should remain in the UK.As Europe’s only flying ‘D’ model, she is a very fitting tribute those who flew this aircraft in NW Europe in WW2.We should not forget the key part played by the 2ndTAF Mitchell squadrons (including the Dutch and Norwiegens),particularly during the run up to D-Day and the liberation of Europe.
I would be sad to see her go too far afield.

I think the idea is to rationalse some aspects of the collection which don’t strictly fit in the collection and to allow room for the newcomers. There are the Beaufighter,Sea Fury, Spitfire F.22,Mustang ‘B’and Gladiator waiting in the wings.

I can understand the Spit (ML417 me thinks), but the Mitchell and Skyraider – why and whats coming in their places ?.
The Mitchell should be here its representative of the period and the only flier in the UK. The Skyraider, although not a ‘native’type is still nevertheless an important historic aircraft.
