FIGHTER F-16 DROPPED BOMBS ON ITS OWN BASE

Fighter F-16 U.S. Air Force dropped two bombs and two fuel tanks on the territory of Hill Air Force Base as a result of an accident, said agency Associated Press. The incident occurred Oct. 22 in Utah.

According to the Pentagon after taking off from the base, located 50 kilometers north of Salt Lake City, the plane encountered engine trouble, and therefore the pilot had to make an emergency landing. The pilot decided to drop their bombs and fuel tanks, each of which there were about 1,135 liters of fuel to reduce the weight of the aircraft.

According to local television station Fox13 (KSTU-TV), one of the bombs dropped hit the located on the base box and exploded.At the time of the explosion inside the building was empty. Thus, as a result of the incident there were no casualties: emergency landing of an aircraft also was successful.
