Am new here. Just want to discuss all instances, where air force planes or missiles have been used to engage terrorists camps or rougue countries and their effectiveness. I know for sure that US has achieved some success and has also bugled many a missions. Israel attack against Hizollahs/PLA, russian air force agains Chechans, Indians recent use of helicopter against Pakistani terrorists, American messed up ventures in Middle-east to save its kidnapped people, are such examples. There are still terrorists camps that can pose threat to NATO or its constituents, Examples being UK (IRA), Burma, Sudan, Iraq, Pakistan, Libya, Chechanya, West Timor.
The point is – are USAF, RAF or any other major AF handled to equip with such a possibility?. What’s the special kind of training and equipment given to them for this purpose?
Are AF really needed to undertake such a mission? Please conside that many terrorists around the world Stingers and possibly chemical weapons.
Thank You,
