Final photos from my AX480

Well, I’ve decided to post one last bunch of pictures from my Megapix AX480, as I believe I have a Canon 350D on the way this Christmas. 🙂 Here’s a selection of photos from a few recent trips to EGCC, hope you like!

Never seen that angle on the cathay picture, really shows its size. Nice photos 🙂

Count yourself lucky. I won’t be getting anything as nobody knows that I’m going to be home for Christmas.

Thanks for the advice guys! I don’t yet know which lense I’m getting for my camera – but I have noticed myself that since the days have got darker, the quality of my shots has decreased. I’ll just mess around with my new camera abit and see what happens. 🙂

pics

I tend to agree with softlad here. The shot composed OK but the quailty is not great, I don’t think the dark weather did you any favours on this day, looks to me like the shutter speed wasn’t fast enough….were you using auto mode? Thing is on a dark day your not going to be able to get high shutter speeds such as 1/500 without bumping up the ISO which itself adds noise to the pic. But its certainly worth playing with the settings in the camera. I started off with a 350D and a 70-300 IS lens (see my pics on a.net for examples) I just played with the camera and worked out what I was aiming for, you want to aim for an Fnumber of 8-11 with a shutter speed of 1/400-1000 to freeze the aircraft and get the whole pic in focus. Waiting for bright weather is also a benefit!

What len’s are you getting for the 350D, as this will be a big factor aswell. I just bought a Canon 30D (I have the 350 as a back up)and upgraded from the 70-300 IS to a 100-400 IS L and a 70-200 IS L F2.8, OK a lot of dosh but the quailty of the images in terms of colours and sharpness are superb. I don’t just do av photography I also do sports.
I would certainly recommend the 70-300 IS lens, its sharp and very light.

If you need any help on the camera feel free to PM me! I’ll be in Manchester over the xmas period and hope to get to the airport during that time. Keep shooting practise makes perfect, you should see some of my attempts when I started!!

Well sorry mate but i don’t think your shots are great. I like the angles but the majority of the shots are not in focus and slightly blurred. Your photos are not going to improve if you don’t get constructive critisism. Im sure that when you get your new camera things will improve. Don’t take it the wrong as im not having a go. I just think it is unfair that poeple on here do not try help others improve by saying every shot posted is ” Great ” or ” Brilliant ” when they they are clearly not. On that note hope you like what santa brings you. 😉

The Qatar was not late. It was an extra aircraft dead legged in from Munich to pick up the passengers form the previous nights service that had gone tech.

P.S. I’m getting socks for christmas and I’m working on the day. SNIFF!!

Thanks EGPH! 🙂

Nice photos, just think how your shots will turn out with the canon. What kind of lense will you be getting?

I’m not actually that sure, I think it’ll be a case of finding out on Christmas day, but the research has been done so I’m hoping it’ll be a half-decent one! 😀

Excellent shots! 😎

The British Airways 737 isn’t a -400 though. Is it a -300 series?
