Had to be in Kent this morning, so took the opportunity to visit the Jackdaw for the first time ever.
Supreme disappointment as Section Officer Harvey wasn’t sitting in the corner by the window looking crestfallen, but hey – they serve a great pint of Spitfire (What else?) and have some RAF memorabilia scattered around.

You guys are just…..WRONG…all over the place!!
I think it’s the hair that kills it for me….not a big fan of it all being piled up like that…bet she’d look a lot better with it down…other than that she’s a nice looking gal…
Still prefer the gal in ‘Dark Blue World’ to SY even tho she has no chest to speak of…but you could get lost in those EYES…LOl.
Just my own bit to the fray…..

Wanted to sit where our BoB lovebirds sat….it was apparently in the back as the light etc was not good elsewhere!!
That would make sense as, having watched that bit of the movie a couple of times on DVD at the weekend, the window behind them is not correct for the front, right-hand bar that they are supposed to be in.
Indeed if you look through the window you can see a lot of flowers rather than the car park in which ‘gay-boy’ Plummer parks his MG

You wear modern stockings and suspenders? 😮
I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch one of your Old Warden displays in quite the same light ever again.
Moggy
Yes, you should hear the language when he snags one on that little catch on the entry door to Magister… 😀 😉 😀

We are lucky lucky that the full kit looks a lot better than that these days and, from my own perspective I have to say a lot better on……….

[QUOTE=Dave Homewood]I agree it looks like Kenneth Moore. Gary, is it actually Bader? I’m confused.
Also, which Spitfire is that. I don’t recall seeing any in the film coded BO-J. Any Spit-spotters out there?
Dave,
Kenneth More played Bader in Reach for the Sky, hence ‘Bader & Tuck’. 🙂
The BO marked Spits only appeared when the Duxford hangar was destroyed, they were representing a Czech squadron. I’ll get back to you on the aircraft id.

Can I start talking about Mustangs again????
When did you stop 😉
(Hastening to point out that my posting of the picture (again) was by popular request, not my own obsession)

My own personal view, you understand, and not trying to cast any doubt on your choices.
I’m sure Mr Caine is quite a practised snogger 😮

Well thanks to Moggy’s rather nice post I think I might be swayed now – by the way a mates mate is a dead ringer for Susannah York, but a brunette (hmmmm…)

Rlangham, After looking (again, and again…oohh) at the striking pose of Ms Y posted by Moggy, I do feel that you are indeed quite alone.

Moggy, is the interior of the Jackdaw in the film actually in the real pub? Or is it a studio set? It looked pretty real. If so, does it look the same inside?
I’ll take a look at the film this afternoon and take a view on that. I suspect it is the location from something that appears in the pub itself suggesting that Ms York did, indeed sit in the there.

Thanks Moggy for the great shot of the pub.
Thanks Gary for the great shot of the girl!

Am I alone in thinking that Susannah York isn’t really that pretty? I mean i’m sure she’s a nice person but if you ask me i’d rather sleep with Michael Caine (and no, i’m not that way inclined)
Moggy, have you still got that great shot of Miss York that you posted many moons ago, I’m sure you can remember which one I’m refering to.

A trip to Specsavers needed I think 😉

I doubt it’s Bader on the other side,
Looks a little bit like Kenneth More to me……
You mean they aren’t the same person?
Well spotted! 🙂
By: Firebird - 18th March 2006 at 21:18
While that’s certainley Tuck helping SY, I doubt it’s Bader on the other side, as who ever it is is in uniform.
And as Bader left RAF service some 20 years before the BoB was filmed, I’d say it’s either a serving RAF Officer at the time or another actor from the filmset?

Notice how much better Tuck’s situational awareness was. Always in the right place at the right time.
Bader meanwhile is busy getting up his ‘big wing’, far too far from the action.
There’s a lesson there for aspiring fighter pilots.
Moggy
I dont know, it looks as though Bader may be doing a full frontal attack while she is distracted! 😉
Alan.
